york. >> with us tonight amy free our meteorologist from our affiliate here in new york. you have three things you're looking at. >> the first storm is in the northeast, it looks wet and white and will give some folks a white christmas. as it moves through washington, late tomorrow evening it will produce a tlint of snow. mainly the snow stay in central pennsylvania. and central new york, one to three inches possible there. along the i-95 corridor, mainly a little dusting. >> then severe weather in the south? >> yes, this is down in the gulf. the warm side could produce thunderstorms and isolated tornadoes. the cold side of that storm, before it leaves oklahoma city, could produce a white christmas. >> the third storm is a real biggie. >> it's a monster. a high impact storm moving on to the west coast, producing one to four inches of flooding rain for parts of california. into the sierras, feet of snow. snow riders will be really happy about that. as it pushes east, a lot of snow. anyone traveling through the rockies, places like denver, could see several inches of snow. >> and it gets

with us here on a saturday night. we do begin here, with yet another holiday storm. the one-two punch this year, and tonight, on a weekend when so many are still traveling, a challenge out there. here's the radar at this hour. rain and snow. tonight, it's moving through the ohio valley right into the northeast, from washington up through philly, new york and boston. this is just one of the many scenes on american highways tonight. this is i-83 outside of harrisburg. where several cars collided in the snow. several people were taken to the the hospital. already this evening the flight cancellations are growing, more than 450 and counting. at this hour, triggering a ripple effect as people travel for new year's. so, we begin tonight with abc meteorologist ginger zee. ginger, good evening. >> good evening, david. blustery here. more snow just west of us. 2 or 6 inches of snow, that's on top where they already saw record numbers this week. as millions of us return from family gatherings, or take off for new festivities, another snowstorm is thwarting our trek. in king of prussia, they wer

outside our studio tonight. sam, great to see you. and you were telling us in the news room this afternoon, this is all one massive system? >> reporter: one big system we've been talking about since the weekend, david. all that snow in the middle of the country, up to 17 inches in illinois. tornadoes, 25 confirmed from last night's episode. and then this. this, we started coastal areas with a little bit of snow, then we went to sleet. now we've got some rain with ice mixed in. if you're in coastal areas, road surfaces will stay wet. inland, you're going to get that mixture of ice and then inches and inches of snow. look at the snow graphic as we work this storm system. it was that one big storm that now will hand itself off to a kind of nor'easter shape. then it will move in. look at that icing that's involved. that is one of the scary parts of this system. plenty of areas that will get some icing and snow. the snowfall totals will be measured in inches. and very near a foot. and it's a very big deal. because, david, places like syracuse, and i know you just left yesterday, haven't had a f
